Dr. Praveen Jain has more than 35 years of experience in the field of Library and Information Science (LIS). He holds Ph.D, M.Phil & MLIS Degree in Library and Information Science and Master Degree in Economics and Sociology. Presently he is working as Librarian at Institute of Economic Growth (IEG), University of Delhi Enclave, India. He is the Director, Special Libraries Association (SLA), USA and Past President of the Asia Community, SLA; President of Sci-Tech Community, SLA and President of Society for Library Professionals. He has received several honours and awards including- SLA Hall of Fame 2018, SLA Asian Librarian Award 2017, (SLA Fellow 2015, Presidential Citation Award 2009, Professional Award 2008, DDLP Award 2004 and many more.
He has published more than 40 research papers and presented at national and international conferences in India, US, Canada, Germany, Japan, France, South Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Oman, Sri Lanka and Philippines. He is the editor of 14 conference proceedings. He has organized many events, lectures, seminars, national and International conferences including the series of International Conference of Asian Special Libraries (ICoASL) held in Delhi, Japan, Philippines, Korea, Indonesia, COLLNET 2015 & 2016 and International Library and Information Professionals (I-LIPS) annual series in India since 2012.
