Theresa Buiel is a Customer Success Specialist for Elsevier who helps Chemists, Biologists, and Pharmaceutical Scientists effectively utilize specialty databases in chemistry and the life sciences to advance their research. She joined Elsevier in 2013 after working for seven years as an Applications Specialist at CAS primarily supporting their STN customers. Previously – she spent 14 years as the proprietor of ThinkLink where she conducted scientific and technical literature and patent research contractually for companies in the chemical, coatings, engineering, petroleum, semiconductor and textile industries. Prior experience was gained in information specialist roles at Glidden-Durkee, Standard Oil/BP and Ferro.
She first began searching Embase many years ago on Dialog and STN and reveled in the command line searching environment to identify precise results thanks to its thesaurus! Upon moving to Elsevier, she was introduced to Embase.com and has witnessed its evolution from a tool that facilitated info discovery by end users to an amazing resource for both end users and information professionals. It is her favorite database!
