Mahendra N. Jadhav, Dr Mahendra N. Jadhav is serving currently as, Librarian & Head, Central Library, Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai. Dr Jadhav has more than 28 years working experience as library professional in various organisations like; Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, Dehradun, Directorate of Weed Science Research (ICAR) Jabalpur, IIT Bombay and presently working at IIT Madras, Chennai. He is well acquainted with recent trends in Library and Information Science. He has major contributions at IIT Bombay/IIT Madras like Library Automation, Library 3M electronic security system, RFID, ETD system, website design, Institutional Repository, IITM IRINS Scholars profile and ISO 9001 certification. He has also supported to INDEST consortia activities in the initial stage at IIT Bombay. Dr Jadhav has vast experience in various Library Management Software, Digital Library and open source Software’s. He is the recipient of the Best Employee award at IIT Bombay and at Directorate of Weed Science Research, Jabalpur for his explanatory library services. He is also a recipient of the meritorious and leadership award at IIT Madras in 2020. He is the recipient of SLA Asian Sci-Tech Librarian Award in 2021 and is currently Chair-Scholarly Communications, SLA-Academic & Education Community. Dr. Jadhav is a member of various professionals’ societies. He has published many papers in journals, conference proceedings and book chapters. He has also served as members of various committees, e.g. INDEST consortia, NMEICT, National Digital Library (NDL), etc.

The Open Educational Resouces (OER) and MOOCs courses are new ways of providing education and gaining and keeping ourselves updated. A large number of institutions are offering such OER and MOOCs courses in the South Asian region. The submitter himself is heading the National Resource Center in Library and Information Sciences under the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India for offering the online MOOCs course, "Emerging Trends & Technologies in Library & Information Services (ETTLIS) which is a 16 weeks Faculty Development Program. The program achieved great success and in both the last two annual editions of the course, there were over 3000 participants globally. This session is proposed to host three expert speakers of the domain along with the submitter himself as one of the speakers. Learning Objectives:

After attending the session, the participants will be having a better understanding of the OER and MOOCs courses from the South Asian regions and they can formally join.
Not only the participants will become learned but also they can get the motivation to develop and offer their own courses.
This will result in better understanding and cooperation amongst like-minded people from the domain globally and help in networking.
Can help in the beginning of a forum for mutual discussion and collaboration in the proposed area.
Can result in creating a special interest group under the banner of SLA.
Could become an umbrella group to help others in implementation and facilitating the OER and MOOCs development
