Following the publication of her book 'data driven decisions: a toolkit for information professionals' and her talk at the SLA conference in 2021 of the same title, Amy will walk attendees through one of the key steps to true data driven decisions: mapping your data. Mapping data is one of the parts of data usage that most struggle with, but it is the process which has the most impact and opportunities when used effectively. This session will explore what mapping your data is, why we need to do it and look at how you can do it. By introducing attendees to a variety of tools and using a simple jargon free approach, attendees will come away from the session clear on how to map data and how they can implement it in their own organisations to make impactful decisions.
