Within the world of Records Management, many organizations are struggling to update their systems, processes, governance, and services to support robust electronic records management in the same ways that we were able to do with paper records. In addition, ensuring the long-term preservation of permanent records and archival materials is becoming harder and harder. This presentation will go through the process of how JPL is contending with managing records across dozens of repositories, many of which are aging systems that do have the capabilities to provide governance. The final solution is to build an ecosystem of tools of tools, systems, and services for the robust management of records through gold-source, automated processes - applied to both legacy and future systems.
