David received his B.S. and M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from The University of Texas at Dallas working on wearable electrochemical biosensors for continuous monitoring of disease through passive sweat. Upon graduation he worked on translating the technology from his Masters as a research engineer for a local Dallas start-up company, EnLiSense LLC. In 2018, David left the start-up to pursue his PhD. He joined Dr. Ashutosh Chilkoti's lab at Duke University to work on microfluidic fluorescence-based biosensors for global health applications. During his academic and professional journey David has published 10 academic manuscripts (including 5 first author), 1 review paper, 1 book chapter, and has 1 patent.
