Jeff DiBerto is a fifth year graduate student in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine who is conducting his thesis research in the laboratory of Dr. Bryan Roth . Jeff studies serotonin 5-HT2A receptors to elucidate the mechanisms of action of psychedelic drugs. His work focuses on 5-HT2A receptor drug discovery, structure-function, signaling, and effects on gene expression at the epigenomic, transcriptomic, and translatomic levels. Previously, Jeff conducted research as an undergraduate student in the laboratory of Dr. CJ Malanga and as a research technician in the laboratory of Dr. Thomas Kash, both at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine.
