Robert is currently the Global Executiive Director of Specimen and Biorepository Services at TMRW Life Sciences. Additionally, he is a subject matter expert on Cryogenic Management and Cryobiology having spent the last twenty-five years curating all types of biologic specimens and samples. Rob's current focus is leading TMRW's Biorepository operations team. In this capacity, Robert is in charge of specimen management of biorepository activities, specimen logistics, specimen reformatting, and inventory services. He is the biorepository operations liaison for all of TMRW’s affiliated biorepositories and biorepository partners.
Prior to TMRW, Rob led GSK’s Global Discovery Bioassets team located at their U.S. and U.K. R&D hubs. His team ran centralized biorepositories focused on automation and responsible for the creation, QC, tracking, storage, and global distribution of a wide variety of biologicals used throughout GSK and affiliate sites. These assets include cell lines, stem cells, plasmids, nucleic acids, bllood, plasma, proteins, peptides, viruses and strains.
Prior to GSK, Rob led core scientific service groups at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute at the University of Pennsylvania, Centocor and Johnson & Johnson for over twenty years. He was particularly drawn to TMRW and GSK 's ambition to innovate and focus on cryogenic automation & centralized, transparent asset management.
Rob holds a B.S. in Biochemistry and a MS in Cellular and Molecular Biology. He has authored 14 peer-reviewed publications while at Thomas Jefferson University, the University of Pennsylvania and Johnson and Johnson. Additionally, Rob holds two U.S. patents, is invited to speak at a variety of biologic and sample-management focused industry forums and is passionate to share his experience to STEM-related outreach programs for persons interested in pursuing careers in science
