Recently retired as the Vice President of a global department at GlaxoSmithKline responsible for the quality and rigor of R&D supply chain. This worldwide leadership role had responsibility for 6 locations with a capital and operational budget in excess of 20 million dollars.
Significant experience in working in a global, multicultural environment managing multi-disciplinary projects and teams across several international locations and organizational boundaries having worked in the UK , Spain and the USA.
In depth knowledge and experience in medicine discovery and recognized expert in automation. She led the successful development and implementation of automation systems for drug discovery at GSK. Sue holds a degree in Microbiology and a PhD in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology and is a trained Lean Sigma facilitator. She is a board member and fellow of the Society for Laboratory Automation and Sciences (SLAS) and has recently been elected as treasurer of the society which has an annual operating budget of 6 million dollars.
Sue has served as Editor of the Journal of Biolmolecular Screening and the Journal of Laboratory Automation. and has been a regular reviewer for NIH. Chaired numerous conference sessions and speaker at wide range of scientific conferences.
Passionate about personal development with accreditation as a job plus coach and experienced mentor. Led a US initiative to develop leadership skills across the GSK scientific community.
Sue now runs her own consultancy company supporting major fortune 500 Pharma companies.
