Dr. Edmond Young is an Associate Professor and Dean’s Catalyst Professor in the Department of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering and Institute of Biomedical Engineering (cross-appointed) at the University of Toronto. His research interests focus on the development of microscale technologies for cell biology applications including organ-on-a-chip systems. He has published over 50 publications for his research work in the microfluidics field, including tumour-on-a-chip, heart-on-a-chip, and lung airway-on-a-chip systems. In 2016, he received both the Ontario Early Researcher Award and Connaught New Investigator Award for early career research excellence, and in 2020 became Fellow of the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering (CSME).
