Leveraging over 40-yrs of research experience that includes 30-yrs in the biomedical/biotechnology field, Dr. Louis Scampavia is an associate professor at the Scripps Florida Research Institute within the Department of Molecular Medicine. Having been at Scripps Florida at its very inception and facilitating the development of their High-Throughput Screening (HTS) facility, he currently serves as the Director of HTS Chemistry and Technologies. The Scripps Molecular Screening Center is focused on drug discovery as a collaborative effort with other scientists at Scripps, other academic investigators and industrial partners; where Dr. Scampavia participates as a principal investigator (MPI) on a number of NIH supported HTS grants. Duties also extend into cheminformatic support and analyses of the Scripps uHTS compound collection with an objective to acquire and expand chemical libraries in order to improve diversity and functionality as well as meet ever changing needs in the drug discovery landscape.
