PhD Candidate
University of California, Los Angeles
Chau Ly is currently a PhD candidate at the University of California, Los Angeles in Bioengineering. Her research focuses on two concentrations: (1) altered mechanical phenotype of drug resistant leukemia measured via a high-throughput cyclical deformability cytometry; (2) effects on immune cells subjected to mechanical stress from a multiplex, 3D-printed filtration method. Chau has recently published work in Lab on a Chip, FASEB Journal, Current Opinion in Biotechnology, Frontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology, and Journal of Clinical Virology. Prior to joining UCLA, Chau worked in the biotechnology industry on a platform-automated molecular assay to measure Hepatitis C viral load at Hologic, Inc., and received her bachelor’s degree from UC San Diego.
