Vice President of cryoEM Wuxi Biortus Biosciences Co., Ltd., Jiangsu, China (People's Republic)
Cryo-electron microscopy (cryoEM) is a biophysical technique used to determine the 3-dimensional atomic structures of biological macromolecules and assemblies. A resolution revolution has been happening in cryoEM in the last ~10 years, owing to the development of direct electron detectors and more efficient image-processing algorithms.
cryoEM is re-shaping structure-based drug discovery (SBDD). Atomic-resolution structures are being determined at unprecedented speeds for drug-targets such as large protein complexes and membrane proteins, which have been difficult for traditional X-ray crystallographic approach.
Biortus is a leader in making cryoEM accessible and affordable to the drug discovery industry. Our one-stop service, from gene to cryo-EM structure under the same roof, ensures high efficiency and success of projects.
As a core technology in Biortus’ drug-discovery CRO service, our cryoEM team has been delivering valuable atomic-resolution structures of target-compound complexes to our clients all over the world. Here I will present multiple examples of atomic-resolution cryoEM structures of PROTAC, GPCR and RdRp, which set up strong foundations for SBDD of these targets.
