Robotyx

Robotyx is an OEM sister company of Transnetyx, an automated genotyping service that provides 99.97% accuracy and results in 24 or 72 hours.  This process is highly automated and utilizes mostly RT-PCR using a proprietary lysing and DNA isolation using custom Taqman probes, processing about 80,000 samples a week.  

Transnetyx started with few Tecans and a custom machine built for us by an OEM, but as we grew found that laboratory automation was not really meant to run the 24/7 schedule we were running. Breakdowns were causing us to lose time and money.   At that point we started creating our own integrations using industrial robotic arms, as we progressed, more and more of the integration became custom and we started designing, building and programming our own instrumentation from scratch not only to handle the rigors of our production environment but to create systems that worked for our process.    In 2020 Robotyx created a separate Nashville location whose goal is to design and build instrumentation away from the day to day issues of running a production lab. 
 
Our team here at Robotyx is very good at creatively solving problems on limited budgets on tight timelines.  We do our CAD/Design work in house and have multiple 3d printers (FDM, SLA) for rapid prototyping and production (if we deem the material sufficient) and some limited capacity to do CNC work.  We focus on designing and building the simplest robust system that can accomplish the requirements, which creates cost efficient instruments that are very reliable.
