As software simulation is widely used during the device development and design process, the possibility to include a digital twin of the ATE system in the modeling scenario can offer great advantages. The detailed software modeling of every instrument inside the tester is fundamental to get a complete simulation of the connection chain between tester, load board, and device, giving the possibility to better predict the behavior of all the elements through a realistic test simulation. This can bring to a first-time-right design approach based on the early risk detection, which will improve the development efficiency and save on resources. The test development process can be greatly enhanced as well, since the ATE instrument modeling will allow the test engineers to design their load boards correctly, minimizing the time required for debug and characterization.
