As flexible hybrid electronic (FHE) manufacturing continues to mature and devices are more widely deployed into commercial and defense applications, solving critical technical gaps is of increased importance to the community. NextFlex eleven technical working groups regularly publish updated roadmaps on key manufacturing technologies and application spaces to advance the state of FHE manufacturing for its members and government partners. These roadmaps include detailed 5-year outlooks for technology progression and formal technical gap analyses within and across technical areas. For the first time, NextFlex recently published a publicly available summary of its FHE Manufacturing Roadmap to encourage wider knowledge sharing, collaboration, and ecosystem advancement. This talk will present a summary of the NextFlex FHE Manufacturing Roadmap, highlighting key technical and market opportunities including those in wearable devices for human monitoring, FHEs for aerospace and automotive applications, and FHE advanced packaging and multilayer approaches for flexible and conformal device architectures.
