Director of Sustainability

Marshall Chase is the Director of Sustainability at Micron Technology, a world leader in innovative memory and storage semiconductor manufacturing. Marshall is responsible for driving the integration of environmental and social issues into Micron’s business strategy and operations, and leads the company’s engagement with investors, customers, and others on many of these issues. He recently co-led the company’s inaugural green and sustainable financing totaling nearly $5 billion, and guided the creation of the company’s first long-term corporate environmental goals.
Prior to joining Micron in 2018, Marshall served as manufacturing industry practice leader at global sustainability consultancy BSR, where he worked closely with Micron and other companies to advance sustainability strategy and implementation. He has also run environmental programs for major real estate firms, led development strategy at the American Chamber of Commerce in Armenia, and served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the country of Togo.
Marshall earned master’s degrees in Business Administration and Natural Resources through the University of Michigan’s Erb Institute for Global Sustainable Enterprise, and a bachelor’s degree in Government and Environmental Policy from Dartmouth College. He is a frequent speaker on corporate sustainability issues, and is a member of the Standards Advisory Group of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board.
