Dr. Olena Weaver is a board-certified diagnostic radiologist with fellowship training in Breast and Women's Imaging. She is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Breast Imaging, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas. She also serves as the Breast Imaging Director of Contrast Enhanced Mammography.
Dr. Weaver has a background in general and breast surgery and has experience in both academic and private practice settings. Dr. Weaver’s research interests include a multidisciplinary translational approach towards developing personalized breast cancer screening regimens and the optimization of early breast cancer diagnosis. She is co-leading the MERIT (Mammography, Early detection biomarkers, Risk assessment, Imaging Technologies) initiative at MD Anderson. This is a prospective multiparametric research cohort of breast cancer screening patients that collects detailed patient history, breast imaging, and blood samples for translational biomarker research.
