R. Edward Hendrick, Ph.D., is a board-certified diagnostic medical physicist involved in the development and evaluation of digital mammography, digital breast tomosynthesis, and the clinical application of magnetic resonance imaging to breast imaging. He helped establish the American College of Radiology’s Mammography, MRI, Stereotactic Breast Biopsy, and Breast MRI Accreditation Programs and the equipment and quality control methods for those programs. He was a charter member of the FDA’s National Mammography Quality Assurance Advisory Committee, co-PI of ACRIN DMIST, and has published extensively on new technologies in breast imaging, radiation doses and risks, and in support of screening mammography.
