This session will offer a comprehensive review of breast cryoablation, a technique that is becoming more commonplace for the treatment of symptomatic fibroadenomas as well as for early-stage breast cancers. We will discuss how to implement a breast cryoablation program in practice, illustrate how the procedure is performed, describe post ablation imaging findings, review challenging cases, and discuss the current literature, including past and current clinical trials.

Learning Objectives:

List the important considerations needed to implement breast cryoablation in practice. Summarize the history and rationale of the development and implementation of breast cryoablation
Identify patients that are best suited for breast cryoablation and determine adaptations for patients with physical challenges. Assess outcomes of previous and current clinical trials of cryoablation
Understand how the procedure is performed and what to look for during post ablation imaging follow-up. Define other breast ablation methods and compare features to those of cryoablation
