This 8-hour course for physicians will focus on building skills in interpreting automated breast ultrasound (ABUS) studies. Faculty will guide participants through a methodical review of 40 ABUS cases. A review of cases will emphasize the quality of image acquisition and identification of the spectrum of common artifacts when using this modality. This course will fulfill the FDA-mandated 8 hours of training in automated breast ultrasound using the 3D platform.

Learning Objectives:

Explain the complementary role and importance of screening breast ultrasound.
Increase knowledge of normal breast anatomy with special emphasis on the coronal ultrasound image and evaluation of lesions for their benign or malignant features.
Develop awareness of commonly encountered artifacts in automated breast ultrasound imaging and techniques to avoid them.
