RAD-AID International is a UN-affiliated nonprofit (501c3) charitable health organization with the mission of improving and increasing radiology health services for poor and medially underserved regions of the world by implementing technologies and training health workers. The organization consists of about 13,300 volunteers, 8- university-based medical center chapters, 77 partner hospitals abroad and operates programs in 35 countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe, and the Caribbean. As medical imaging is vital to most health services, including cancer treatment, maternal-fetal monitoring, cardiovascular care, and trauma response, RAD-AID improves the accessibility, safety, and quality of radiology worldwide as an anchor for improving global health in low and middle-income countries.
