Providing wound prevention and management services in the long-term post-acute care setting requires another arm of knowledge and understanding beyond wound management skills including an understanding of the culture, the regulations, and the patient/resident population. Attend this session to learn from healthcare professionals who work in long-term post-acute care regarding what makes a wound consultant or visiting provider welcome in the facility and ensure success when providing wound services such as debridement and other wound management interventions, and what types of behaviors or issues can result in a consulting/business contract being canceled because a provider or nurse consultant did NOT recognize the needs of the facility, staff, and residents.
