Skin wound repair is a multistage process involving multiple cellular and molecular interactions, which modulate the cell behaviors and dynamic remodeling of extracellular matrices (ECM) to maximize regeneration and repair. Cellular and/or Tissue Based Products (CTPs) attempt to mimic the ECM and its function so as to provide a starting point for the wound healing process. This session will explore the distinct roles within the phases of wound healing and the associated role of CTPs in the various stages. Presenters will translate those findings through illustrative case-studies and provide an algorithmic approach to managing a variety of healable, nonhealable, and complex wounds with CTPs.
