Adjunct Assistant Professor
Samuel Merritt University
ORINDA, CA
I have devoted my career to teaching and service within my profession, both locally and on a national level. I owe my success to being open to every opportunity providing many unique opportunities to serve. I joined a teaching practice after graduating residency. I would soon partner and help run the group practice managing every aspect of the business side of medicine, while also being involved with the St. Mary’s Wound Care Center as a panel member. During my 6 years in San Francisco, I was actively involved in both student and resident education and served as the Program Director for the Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency at St. Mary’s Medical Center. In 2017 the Podiatry department at Highland Hospital lost 3 of its 4 attendings within a short period of time. I volunteered to work on a part-time basis to help support the hospital, which provided critical rotations for my residents and students. Less than a year later, I made to decision to step away from the Program Director role, and my private practice to be full time at Highland Hospital. I continue to teach the students and residents as an adjunct assistant professor, with a focus in wound care. I am a fellow of the of the American College of Podiatric Medicine, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Wound Management.
