Ed Mahoney has practiced wound management as a physical therapist for 20 years and is the program director for the doctorate of physical therapy (DPT) program at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, LA. Along with Stanley McCallon and Joseph McCulloch, he helped form the first wound management residency for physical therapists in the country. He served as the director of the residency program in the past and remains active as a mentor. Dr. Mahoney has published several textbook chapters on the topics of wound healing and biophysical agents and also teaches those topics along with wound management in the DPT curriculum. Dr. Mahoney currently serves as the examination committee chair for the American Board of Wound Management and enjoys the collaboration with colleagues from various professions that that opportunity provides.
