In the second of our two-topic wound infection series, this session will review the role of bioburden and how it impacts healing in hard-to-heal and challenging wounds. This session will address the critical need for early antibiofilm-based interventions in breaking the cycle of biofilm to support wounds on a healing trajectory.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, particpants will be able to describe the impact of highly prevalent biofilm as a key barrier to wound healing
Upon completion, particpants will be able to list at least four practical methods to manage wound biofilm
Upon completion, participants will be able to incoroporate anti-biobilm strategies into their daily clinical practice
