Solar optimizers, a form of Module Level Power Electronics (MLPE) and product category with a number of vendors, have been proven to increase the energy output of solar installations by labs, research institutions, modeling software, and more. However, the amount of additional electricity generated and performance can vary considerably from site to site. Tigo is the only MLPE provider that measures – and shares with customers – the increased energy that the optimizers enable, a term we call “reclaimed energy.†In this poster, Tigo will share insights on optimizer performance from its entire fleet of monitored installations, which includes more than 12 years of data across tens of thousands of installations from all 7 continents. Key takeaways from analyzing the Tigo monitored data will include: ◠A distribution of increased energy output across the installed fleet ◠Comparing regional effects on optimizer performance ◠Comparing installation size effects on optimizer performance ◠Changes in performance over time ◠How reclaimed energy works Optimizer performance is critical to end-users – including homeowners, businesses, and even utility-scale projects – to ensure that desired financial returns are achieved and risks are mitigated. In addition, optimizer performance data enables EPCs, financiers, installers, and others in the industry to better understand and communicate how these systems perform for their customers
