Senior Vice President, Asset Strategy & Planning Southern California Edison
As electric utilities transition toward a cleaner grid and a decarbonized future, changes in how electricity is used and generated, such as the adoption of electric vehicles and distributed energy resources, are placing increased importance on a reliable and resilient electric grid. At the same time, climate change and its impacts are adding to the complexity of how utilities adapt to and recover from severe weather events, including wildfires, to keep the lights on.
In this session, executives from Southern California Edison will discuss how they are currently mitigating the impacts of climate change, such as longer, more intense wildfire seasons, while reimagining the grid and planning for the longer-term investments and technology needed to support California’s ambitious GHG reduction goals.
