The Duke Energy Emerging Technology testing lab in Mount Holly, North Carolina, just outside Charlotte, the facility that tests real-time grid simulators, electric vehicles, telecommunications and cybersecurity, is adding a major new category to its portfolio - THE DC HOME in collaboration with the EMerge Alliance and Direct Energy Partners. The full-size home will be powered by utility and on-site microgrid resources on both sides for the meter. This provides the opportunity for products in all major categories of a microgrid power system including: sources, conversion/power management, storage, circuit protection and distribution, loads and controls. This presentation will describe the project, its mission, its timeline, and expected results.
