The opening event of the Grid Edge Marketplace features opening remarks from EMerge Alliance Chairman, Brian Patterson, about the transformation of our existing grid to a highly resilient, adaptive and environmentally improved "Grid-of-Grids" architecture. Immediately following will be a featured "Symbolic Unplugging" when the live multi-tier, distributed intelligent, advanced transactive microgrid powering the Grid Edge Residential Microgrid Demonstration and part of the show floor with renewable energy, will be "islanded" from the local utility power grid and run on previously stored renewable energy generated on-site at the convention center. VIP's and invited guests will help in this "NOT SHOW STOPPING" event by demonstrating the resiliency benefits of microgrids when bulk grid power is interrupted and later restored.
