Combining PV solar and energy storage into hybrid facilities has created a surge in renewables integration. The flexibility and versatility of energy storage enhances the value of clean PV generation and mitigates much of the grid integration cost that stand-alone PV can create. While the dramatic surge in solar+storage investment arises from some of the inherent synergies from combining the technologies, such facilities also face some development headwinds.
