Although clean mobility companies typically operate in densely populated cities such as Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco, a shift in the EV industry is growing the impact of clean mobility companies in medium-size cities (150,000 - 300,000 people). These cities face different challenges than larger cities, and have fewer models to draw best practices from in order to build equitable transportation networks and partnerships. Questions remain as to how clean mobility companies should operate in smaller markets and how local governments can address the challenges that may arise from the arrival of these new solutions. This session will explore the critical need for clean mobility companies to look into growing in mid-sized cities, and ensure their presence does not exacerbate pre-existing inequalities and, rather, resolves barriers to transportation access.
