Islands have unique challenges when it comes to managing their power grids, such as extreme frequency fluctuations, unpredictable weather, and limited resources. For islands, superior grid management is even more critical than usual. This session will outline the parallels between remote regions globally and islands, the obstacles surrounding renewable implementation, and tactics to overcome these challenges, using Guam as a case study.
