The leveraged value of microgrids comes when they are interconnected into mini-grid-like networks. Adding shared local resources and a final connection to the bulk grid in a multi-tiered grid-of-grids configuration makes the perfect solution to issues of power surety, resiliency and lowest cost. This presentation will explain how individual microgrids can be interconnected into multi-tier networks in neighborhoods and communities. The generation and storage assets can be on either side of the meter and either privately or utility owned.
