The rapid growth in energy storage systems (ESS) means that the folks who develop codes and standards are working very hard just to keep up. As products and applications evolve, so too will applicable building, fire, and electrical codes, as well as energy storage system-specific standards. This session will cover relevant requirements in the International Fire and Building Codes, the National Electrical Code, NFPA 855 (Standard for Installation of Stationary Energy Storage Systems), and UL 9540 (Energy Storage Systems and Equipment) for the design and installation of ESS in residential and commercial buildings.
