Long Duration Energy Storage is what will allow renewable energy to fast-track the road to carbon neutrality in a dependable and affordable way. To achieve carbon neutrality, the world's electricity grids will need to deploy 85-140 TWh of long duration energy storage by 2040. This session will explore the value of long-duration storage in using renewable sources instead of fossil fuels to manage grid imbalances, reviewing various use cases, and long-term planning.
