The solar back sheet is a critical component for the solar module. It provides environmental protection, electrical insulation and mechanical separation from handling the module. In the last couple of years, the backsheets have begun to deteriorate. Several factors contribute to this product failure, DuPont has presented evidence that 14% of all backsheets have some form of degradation that needs to be addressed.
An acrylic or other polymeric coating has been applied to restore some of the original properties, or ate least, prevent further degradation. The application of this coating requires plenty of decisions to be considered. It also requires some expertise with the application process.
