Senior Policy Program Director NC Clean Energy Technology Center Raleigh, North Carolina, United States
This poster will present a summary of state and utility efforts to decarbonize the electric grid, including renewable portfolio standards, clean electricity standards, and emission reduction standards. The poster will also provide information on decarbonization actions currently under consideration, such as pending legislation to increase renewable portfolio standards and emission reduction goals. This topic is extremely important and timely because these policy drivers, along with utility planning and execution, will lead to emission reductions and market growth for clean energy resources. With policies differing significantly between states and changing rapidly, it is difficult for many to keep up with it all, so this poster will provide valuable information to attendees on the current decabonization policy landscape. The target audience for this poster include clean energy business owners (to help understand the policies in effect and which markets may be more favorable), utilities (to help see what their peers utilities are doing), and anyone working in clean energy policy (policymakers & regulators, advocates, researchers, etc.; it will help them understand the array of potential approaches and national landscape).
