The Structural Engineering Institute (SEI) & the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) has formed a new committee that is in the process of developing a Manual of Practice for Solar PV Structures. This committee is made up of structural engineers, geotechnical engineers, contractors, racking manufacturers, wind specialists, solar developers, and owners who are all working together to develop design guidance for the solar PV industry. The Manual will be a collection of the current state-of-the-art in solar PV structural design including ground mounted PV, rooftop PV, elevated PV, and floating PV.
