The growth of yearly installed solar power has been accelerating steadily over the last 10 years world wide but lately the spreading of congestion in grids caused a stalling of its deployment in many countries. This delay is structural and grid operators can not catch up again probably. The underlying reason however is a stalemate in the planning process and not anticipating the future. It is a very steep learning curve for everybody but if the roles do not change in time between policy makers, regulators and grid operators it will inevitably lead to a slow down in the role out of renewables. A much larger total share of energy communities and self consumption should be an obvious solution.
