Andrew Zalay, P.E., MBA., has over 34 yrs. of experience building over 3GW of renewable energy projects from site selection/design/engineering/construction/operation including some of the first windfarm projects in a) California; San Gorgonio Pass, Tehachapi, and Altamont Pass and b) USA; MN, TX, OR NY, WI, IA, NB, CO, KS, MN and c) Australia totaling over 500MW and A$1.3Billion.
He holds a MS and BS in Aeronautical Engineering from MIT and MBA from Alabama A&M University (under a Lockheed scholarship) and is a Certified Permitting Professional from SCAQMD and Hazardous Material Certificate Holder from University of California, Irvine.
He pioneered the wind resource assessment for California Energy Commission and BLM with Gary Arcemont to identify the best wind farm resource areas in CA.
He supervised the water channel tests at the largest wave tank in the world at MARIN to design offshore wind projects able to meet the max met/ocean conditions (50ft max wave height) for Hawaii Oahu offshore wind sites.
