Mark Kella is a seasoned logistics professional with over 12 years of experience in the industry. He graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science in Transportation and Logistics in 2010 and joined BNSF Logistics as a Transload Intern that same year.
His full-time service at BNSFL started in Field Operations, where he oversaw the loading/unloading of over-dimensional wind components via rail. Mark gained additional experience with wind turbine transportation in a variety of project management roles, advancing to his current position as Director of Transportation Operations.
Mark currently leads the teams responsible for BNSF Logistics wind turbine transportation, where he enjoyed the opportunity to coordinate and supervise a 650-mile test move of the largest wind turbine blade transported by rail in North America.
John Ferris is a Licensed Professional Engineer from the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors, with over 16 years of technical experience in the field.
John graduated from The University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 2006. That same year, he began his professional career as an Intern at The American Ironhorse Motorcycle Company. Soon after, he attracted the attention of one of the largest companies in the world, Halliburton; he served there as a Technical Professional for Testing and Subsea.
Since 2017, he has worked at BNSF Logistics. He has served as a Senior Engineer for two years before being a Manager of Equipment Development for almost three years. Currently, he is an Engineering Supervisor. He was pivotal in designing, developing, and testing the innovative wind turbine blade controlling fixture, one of the premier services at BNSF Logistics.
