Director, Asset Management

As Director of Asset Management at BayWa-r.e., Blerta’s primary responsibility is the financial performance of a portfolio of assets in the United States and Mexico. She plays a critical role in strengthening the asset management framework, setting up processes, and ensuring successful transitions of the BayWa r.e. assets under construction to the asset management department. Blerta supports the development team and other divisions within the company with a focus on strategy and business planning.
Prior to joining BayWa-r.e., Blerta served as Director of Asset Management at Longroad Energy and prior to Longroad she served as the Vice President, Residential Asset and Risk Management at Greenbacker Capital where she was in charge of the residential business unit and led different teams including customer care, operation, finance and accounting, and third-party service providers while managing all aspects of residential solar assets. Prior to joining Greenbacker in 2017, Blerta worked for SunEdison where she held multiple leadership roles. She led integration efforts of acquired companies globally and the residential asset management team that set up business operations for supporting community solar. Before that she was with TerraForm Power for over a year and was part of the management team that assisted in Yieldco's overall successful IPO, a $4BN SunEdison subsidiary.
Blerta has 17 years of overall management experience. She obtained a master’s degree in Business Administration from San Francisco State University and an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Houston. Additionally, she has a Professional Certificate on Energy Innovation and Emerging Technologies from Stanford University. Blerta has a passion to positively impact teams and advance renewable energy to make a difference for the generations to come. She is a member of Women in Leadership and Women of Renewable Industries and Sustainable Energy.
