Christina Walrond is the Stakeholder Engagement Specialist leading engagement for advanced reactor and industrial emission demonstration projects in the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations.
Christina previously worked in the Department's Advanced Manufacturing Office, where she led stakeholder outreach to understand energy- and carbon-related challenges facing U.S. manufacturers. Christina also has substantial experience in nuclear energy, having developed engagement strategies for advanced nuclear companies and conducted nonproliferation-related analysis on fuel cycle technologies. She specializes in communicating around technical topics with a range of audiences, from policymakers and investors to communities surrounding environmental remediation sites. Her work has been referenced in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and The Economist, and reviewed in The New York Review of Books.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Christina holds a master’s in international science and technology policy with a concentration in nuclear technology from George Washington University. She lives in Alexandria, Virginia with her husband and their cat.
