International Trade Specialist

Anne Ahrendsen joined the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration (ITA) in 2021 and is an International Trade Specialist in the Office of Energy and Environmental Industries. As the Energy Storage specialist, she works on global trade promotion services for the U.S. energy storage market to coordinate across U.S. government agencies, industry, and international partners to inform trade policy decisions and diplomacy.
Prior to joining public service, Anne worked as a consultant in the Deloitte Consulting public sector practice and supported government agencies on strategies related to front-end technology development, innovation practices, and acquisitions. She also supported the National Security Innovation Network as the program manager responsible for delivering innovation programming to military units.
Anne holds a Master of Arts in International Relations with a concentration in International Political Economy from The Maxwell School at Syracuse University and a B.S. in Business from the University of Colorado Boulder.
