Brian Probolsky serves as chief executive officer of the OCPA. In this capacity, Mr. Probolsky oversees all OCPA functions, including power planning, finance and budgeting, procurement, supply operations, and the development of local energy programs.
Mr. Probolsky brings his unique combination of private and public sector management expertise to OCPA. His priorities include maintaining reliable access to clean and affordable power and water supplies; protecting our environment, beaches and local waterways from pollution; and embracing state-of-the-art technology to improve customer service and reduce operating costs.
His leadership helped oversee over $100 million in annual revenue for Orange County’s Landfill System while also operating landfills reliably and sustainably. During Mr. Probolsky’s tenure, the County enhanced reliability of California’s power grid while reducing GHG emissions by capturing and converting methane gas into renewable energy.
Mr. Probolsky has served as a member of the Moulton Niguel Water (MNWD) District Board of Directors since 2008. MNWD, a public utility, provides more than 172,000 customers across six cities with safe and reliable water service at low rates. During his tenure, the District won numerous awards, including the State of California’s highest environmental honor. As chair of MNWD's finance committee, Mr. Probolsky managed its long-term financial plan and guided the District to its AAA credit rating.
In recognition of his effective financial management, Mr. Probolsky was selected as chair of the Orange Countywide Oversight Board, where he represents all of Orange County’s special districts on ensuring accountability for the proper dissolution of 25 redevelopment agencies.
Mr. Probolsky has served as chief of staff to three members of the Orange County Board of Supervisors.
Before turning his focus to public service, for more than two decades, Mr. Probolsky built a career as an accomplished entrepreneur and seasoned senior management professional in the finance and technology sectors.
