Leni John is curently the Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) at Strata Clean Energy where he leads the strategy for their procurement function to support a project pipeline exceeding 4 GW of development assets in solar and energy storage projects. Leni has over 20 years of experience developing strategies to manage procurement and supply chain operations, of which, 14 years have been with leading renewable energy firms for the construction of utility-scale wind and solar power plants totaling over 1.5 GW of installations.
In 2008, Leni began his renewable energy career at Gamesa Wind (now Siemens Gamesa), where he was responsible for developing subcontracts to support the operations & maintenance of all their US wind farms. In 2011, Leni went to work for First Solar where he led the procurement activities and was their Contracts Manager for various utility scale solar farms in the US, UAE, and Australia. In 2014, Leni moved on to work for SunEdison and the following year he joined M+W Energy (now aquired by Signal Energy), as their Director of Procurement. There he created a multifaceted procurement department that managed Supply Chain, Strategic Sourcing, Subcontracts and Estimating for all their new construction of commercial and industrial solar power plant projects in the US. Leni joined Strata in 2017 to help structure a strategic procurement function and was recently promoted to their senior management team as the CPO. For the last 5 years, he has helped develop and manage their strategies to navigate through all of the supply chain disruptions in the industry.
Leni holds a Bachelor's Degree from Johnson & Wales University and an MBA from La Salle University. He and his family live in Durham, North Carolina, with their four children and two great danes.
