National Renewable Energy Laboratory
Lance M. Wheeler is a staff scientist in the Chemistry and Nanoscience Center at NREL. He received his B.A. in Physics from St. John’s University (Collegeville, MN) and M.S. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota. His work spans the basic science of energy conversion to workforce development in building-integrated photovoltaics. The majority of his work now centers on understanding and commercializing perovskite photovoltaics, a high-efficiency solar technology that can be processed from inks for ultralow cost and domestic manufacturing.
