Hannah Bascom leads Energy Partnerships for Google Nest, and is passionate about the intersection of energy and consumer technology. Hannah joined Nest in 2014, growing the regulated energy business from the ground up. She was proud to oversee development of partnerships with over 100 utilities and energy service providers across North America – delivering energy savings, demand response, and customer engagement that set the foundation for the future of the grid. Since Nest’s integration with Google, Hannah has focused on product and service partnerships, setting the stage for new offerings across the energy ecosystem.
Prior to joining Nest, Hannah spent time at Pacific Gas & Electric Company and Ernst & Young’s Energy and Utilities Practice. At PG&E she held a number of roles, including leading the Customer Strategy and Planning organization and building PG&E’s energy efficiency program governance process. At EY, Hannah focused on innovation, product optimization and customer experience strategy. She holds an MBA from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business and a BA with Honors from Brown University.
Hannah has spoken at dozens of energy/policy conferences, including The Aspen Institute Energy and Policy Forum, Edison Electric Institute, Smart Grid Consumer Collaborative, American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy, NY Energy Week, Esource, Peak Load Management Association, and CS Week’s Executive Summit. She has also served as a guest lecturer at Columbia and Boston University’s schools of Management.
